Sunday 20th Feb - Lewes to Glynde and back

Sunday 20th Feb - loop walk from Lewes rail station to Glynde and back - way out over Lewes Down - short walk (2.5 niles) but over elevation - to pub (and rail) at Glynde - walk back via Glyndebourne to return to Lewes - 6 miles total. There is a link here but I'm suggesting we do the elevation first http://explore.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/os_routes/show/5173

Meet at 11am - bring people - lunch/snack - hope for good weather!

January Walk

Sorry about the late notice - but the third Sunday in January walk - Sunday 16th - will be a walk to Lewes - from Birighton - hope you can make it.

Meet at the top of Elm Grove at 11am - outside The Winner [pub] at the top of Elm Grove on the left as you leave town [291 Elm Grove]. We will walk to Lewes from here - first leg is slightly suburban - then uses part of the South Downs Way - before forking off through Kingston. We plan to have a drink in Lewes and then get the train back to Brighton. This is fairly low key walk - about 7.5 miles - with little in way of ascent once you've made it to the top of Elm Grove!

November 28th Steyning to Chanctonbury Ring

Apologies that this is really the 4th weekend of Nov - not really the third - but we are going for this date and this route:

Sunday November 28th Meet at 11am at the Bramber Castle roundabout just outside Steyning [Number 2A bus from Brighton at 9.45 gets into Steyning at ten to 11 - but some cars will be going so check in about lifts].

Route is a loop walk out to Chanctonbury Ring along the South Downs Way from Bramber Castle and then back to Bramber along base of downs - optional extension to Washington Village from Chanctonbury Ring for a drink - this loop is 7 miles.

Optional extension is to walk down to Shoreham station from Bramber - approx 4 miles addition. Transport can be bus + train for full route back to Shoreham - or bus for shorter loop to Steyning and back - or car for this too.
